Narcos is a thing...

Just wait.

Or at leat make people watch the dubbed version. In 2019 there is nothing particularly American about the American blockbuster anyways.

If you think subtitles are distracting, then you are just a terrible reader.

It's not that I find them distracting, it's that I find myself having to rewatch scenes because I missed something while I was reading them.

That's something that can be taken care of by getting used to subtitles. I experienced that at first, too. I don't anymore. ;)

So wait do people really read subtitles without divided attention to what's going on otherwise?

How can I fiddle with my phone if there are subtitles?

I'm wondering why they don't do this in the first place. Throwing all your eggs into one basket was historically a recipe for disaster and still is and it's something you only ever do when either you think you can not fail or if you have no other choice and must do a Hail Mary.
Admiral X wrote: Mon Jan 28, 2019 4:38 am I think they have gotten too caught up in the huge returns from the blockbusters. They can't think in the long term enough to realize they'd probably make more on smaller budget films spread out over time than putting all their eggs in one basket and hoping for one big instant return.
It's a problem of feeding the beast you've become. The larger you get, the more you need to keep growing, and that's all they know how to do.
