That one explicitly said the tests were all rigged.
That one was also a fraud, with no actual experience aboard a starship. A hypocrite who's judging the crew of the Cerritos for not being able to handle her rigged simulations, when she falls apart at the most minor danger, stuff the crew handled with no effort.
There's also a nice bit of fridge brilliance: Yen made all her scenarios based on past Starfleet missions. Explictly famous ones too. So, literally, the vast majority of crew would just have to do the same as previous Starfleet personnel to win the unrigged tests.
Still, Boimler managed to get the first Borg-Encounter done with a 60% rating (and then further increasing his score to 100%, clearly getting a better result than the Enterprise did...). That guy needs to get off that ship and especially, away from Mariner.

Nah. You are comparing video games with real life. No simulation can compare with the adrenaline, the fear, the uncertainty that comes with facing death for real. Reminds me of those idiot Millenials and Zoomers that went and joined the army because their K/D on Call of Duty was so good.

Like, to the Titan?
Anywhere but near Mariner. She actively sabotages his career and that's not just the vibe you get when watching the series (you first see undeniable signs of his hypercompetence in Season 1, Episode 3), but it's also spelled out in season 2's episode 7, where she bad-mouths Boimler to Ransom just so he's reassigned from his prestigious mission to her garbage-hauling mission.
And considering we don't hear anything bad from Boimler's transporter-clone on the Titan, I've got to assume that he slots in with Riker and co just nicely.

Going into danger was not part of her job description; just like how we expect cops to handle high stress situations because it is in their job description doesn't mean that police reform campaigners also need to do a street job to point out their inadequacies, so her job description of scenario designer does not require her being, or being hoodwinked into thinking she is, in danger. The Cerritos crew were being dicks who got upset their obvious deficiencies were being called out and targetted her by putting her into a situation that would be deliberately traumatising because she had a different job. They couldn't find a way to challenge her actual work.

Except everything you just said is blatantly untrue. The crew was only failing the tests, aside from Boimler of course, because the instructor was actively sabotaging them the entire time. By her own admission she made sure the Cerritos crew failed the drills in order to maintain her own career. That alone makes her incompetent at her job.
Secondly she has never served on a Starfleet vessel. She doesn't have the skills or the experience that the crew of the Cerritos had so how is she going to drill them to become better, or anybody else in Starfleet for that matter? Her drills were useless because, as Charles pointed out, had they not been rigged they'd only have had to do as well as the Starfleet personnel who's previous adventures she was running them through so they'd not have improved as they weren't properly being challenged. For crying out loud she couldn't even properly identify actually dangerous situations, she was panicking because she was unable to tell that they weren't in any real danger which the entire Cerritos crew was aware of! How's she going to drill anybody to deal with dangers she's unable to identify herself? The woman was a fraud and Freeman and Mariner were justified in getting her out of Starfleet.
Oh and let's give some props to Boimler shall we? When Kirk beat the Kobayashi Maru he had to reprogram the scenario in order to do it Boimler got 100% on the rigged test without cheating. He basically outdid Captain Kirk through sheer perseverance.

Mmmm. That sounds like plausible writing. Can anyone remind me why I would want to watch this show again?

'Cause it's actually entertaining and you might add some enjoyment to your life? Oh who am I kidding, you'd rather bitch and moan and inflict it on anybody and everybody unfortunate enough to be within earshot of you.
