I hate overzealous SJWs as much as the next guy. But I hate modern 'right-wingers' even more. I used to respect the Republican party. But now they have been overtaken by the alt right (or at least they have few qualms about pandering to them).
I miss Ronald Reagan.
Is anything about keeping border secure pandering?
Specifically, do you think "We have strengthened border security beyond what many believed was possible. We now have more boots on the ground on the southwest border than at any time in our history," is pandering to the alt-right?
No, but painting immigrants as rapists and murderers, illegally denying requests for asylum, and separating children from their parents and locking them all in cages sure is.
Don't get me wrong, obviously illegal immigration shouldn't just be allowed, but when you have to break national and international laws and using cruel and unusual punishment to try to stop it is crazy.

Trump didn't paint immigrants as rapists and murderers. He said that some illegal immigrants were. He also said that some weren't. Separating parents from children started in Obama, so Obama was pandering to the alt-right? I knew he was smart, but I had no idea just how crafty he was...
Keep in mind that separating children from parents is, and has been for centuries, the norm when parents are put in detention for committing crimes. And when you can't find people to dump the kids on, you have to put them somewhere. You might consider it cruel, but I don't see how it could be considered unusual.

Considering all that and other cases I don't think that US is right country to talk about human rights violations of other countries. Sure things that countries like China might be worse and I don't deny that but fact that US has they own human rights violations makes it easier for China and other countries that do it as well to ignore US when it comes to trying to talk about those.

What is this in response to, exactly? Goku is actually talking about US human rights violations while DW is just talking about general laws sans context of what's going on.

Obama was a douche but he never made it mandatory to separate immigrant children from their parents. He had unaccompanied children detained, but held most families together for a limited time and then released them together. The vast majority later showed up for their deportation hearings.
George W. Bush did the same thing.
This new policy started under Trump and it's all on him and his administration.
Migration Policy Institute’s Pierce said that the likely reason data aren’t available on child separations under previous administrations is because it was done in “really limited circumstances” such as suspicion of trafficking or other fraud.
“Previous administrations used family detention facilities, allowing the whole family to stay together while awaiting their deportation case in immigration court, or alternatives to detention, which required families to be tracked but released from custody to await their court date,” Brown and her co-author, Tim O’Shea, wrote in an explainer piece for the Bipartisan Policy Center’s website. “Some children may have been separated from the adults they entered with, in cases where the family relationship could not be established, child trafficking was suspected, or there were not sufficient family detention facilities available. … However, the zero-tolerance policy is the first time that a policy resulting in separation is being applied across the board.”

This new policy started under Trump and it's all on him and his administration.
Under Obama, when the courts required release of children who had been separated from their parents, entire families were just released. Under Trump, the catch and release system was overturned and all illegal entries are being prosecuted.
By my understanding, 43% of illegal immigrants skip deportation hearings:

https://cis.org/Report/Immigration-Courts-Aliens-Disappear-Trial
You could consider 57% to be a vast majority, because that's not well-defined. But 43% of such a large number of people is still a considerable number of people.
There was a program introduced that assigned each family seeking asylum a case worker to help them through the process. This lead to nearly 100% of them showing up at their hearings.
And even if it was less than 1%, that doesn't justify the inhumane conditions they put these people in.
What inhumane? How many people have died or been seriously injured by these inhumane conditions? Is it that the kids didn't have toothbrushes for a while?

Try living in their conditions. I’m sure you’ll be able to shrug it off like it was not a big deal.
